RESD Schools COVID-19 Dashboard

The purpose of this data is to provide our Riverside Elementary School District families and staff with a transparent summary of COVID-19 cases by school resulting in exclusion from school activities. An active case indicates that a student or staff member participating in on-campus activities has tested positive for an active COVID-19 infection. We exclude individuals who test positive from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until their school’s nurse verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by the school district, state, and local health authorities. Once the individual is cleared to return they are no longer considered an active case and we remove their case from the dashboard count.

The communication regarding positive, or potentially positive, COVID-19 tests falls within the HIPPA guidelines and we must protect the privacy rights of students and staff. When a positive case is reported to any RESD school it must be reported to Maricopa County Health Department, first. After Maricopa County has investigated and confirmed the positive case the school will communicate in the following ways:

  1. The school will notify every person that has been identified to have been in “close contact” with the positive individual. Close contact is defined as, “being within six feet for a continuous fifteen-minute duration.” We require any student deemed to have been in close contact with the positive individual to stay home for ten days from the exposure date. You may be able to shorten your quarantine after day seven, after receiving a negative COVID test result on day six. Only students determined to have had close contact will need to be quarantined.
  2. If the positive person is a student or teacher, we will notify all students in that class with a standard RESD COVID-19 classroom notification letter.
  3. After all persons who have been in close contact have been notified, and we've sent the notification letter, we report the case here on the RESD COVID-19 dashboard.

Disclaimer: All COVID-19 data shared by RESD is for informational purposes only. This information is based on reports to the district from other sources which have not been independently verified. RESD confers with Maricopa County Health Department to track COVID-19 cases and trace close contacts. Reported positive cases will be updated daily based on the last day the infected individual was on campus. Cases are removed from the count when the quarantine period has passed and the case is no longer considered active.
